Our Guests (take two)

We were very lucky to have Ryan's mother and brother visit us for 11 days. The arrived the day Ryan took one his Minis, so that he would hopefully be able to spend more time with them. He did manage to take off a lot of time studying- he took off several days and pretty much every evening. It was great to have him around!

Ryan and I managed to find them an apartment very close to us, which they rented for the time they were here. It wasn't very large, but it had really nice furnishings and it was bigger than a hotel room. It actually had some of the nicest furnishings I've seen down here on the island!

I really enjoyed showing off some of my favorite spots on the island. We went to Cabrits, Bense Pool, Emerald Pool, the Carib Territory, Scotts Head, Champagne Bay, Syndicate Falls, Purple Turtle Beach, Tralfagar Falls, Titou Gorge, Douglas Bay, Coconut Beach, Roseau, and Screw's Spa. That's a lot of activity in eleven days, especially considering the effort it takes to coordinate transport down here!

We also, of course, showed them the highlights of our daily lives down here. We enjoyed showing them around the campus and around our small town of Picard. They got to see what the local stores are like- and why shopping can be such a pain! They learned how we order meat and where on campus we go to work out.
